As aluminum producers strive to increase productivity, the environment within furnaces for holding and melting aluminum is becoming more aggressive. Chamber temperatures are increasing and more aggressive fluxes are being used, necessitating more frequent and severe cleaning operations of the refractory wall. A k key requirement for maintaining high levels of product tivity is the need to minimize t the frequency and duration t of furnace downtime. The more aggressive conditions within which the refractory lining has to work today means that the aluminum-resistant lining materials developed in the past to cope with these applications are now being used beyond their originally intended design boundaries.
Spectators should not be allowed. e. test pressures and how long they were held). What Codes and Rules Apply? There are many codes that can have some application to natural gas piping repairs. As we’ve discussed, the main code that applies to natural gas piping is NFPA 54: The National Fuel Gas Code. The rules are rather lengthy, and it does take time and effort to fully understand the intent and requirements of the code and the recent changes. We often run across consulting engineering firms and contractors that do not understand the basic code requirements.
Subcritical or process annealing, bright annealing), hardening (quench & temper), case hardening (carburizing & nitriding), stabilization and sub-zero treatments. Ample examples of both good and bad heat treatment methods will be shown. This presentation will also include examples of the various types of furnaces and ovens commonly used for heat treatment and discuss processing problems, providing tips to simplify maintenance, improve quality and maximize throughput. FACILITY-WIDE ENERGY-SAVING APPROACHES June 7 | 2:00pm EDT | Speaker: Rick Martin Many industrial heating firms have diligently sought to reduce energy use in recent years to save money and help reduce foreign energy imports.
